Ok, so for those of you that don’t know, “The Old Ghost Road” is part of the national cycleway project and follows the old miners track from Lyell in the Buller Gorge through to Seddonville.
While this track is not finished or officially open yet, progress has been good and several huts and track sections are already in place. I have contacted the project managers and had the following response regarding my asking if we are able to ride the first section from Lyell up to the Lyell Saddle.

Shuttle is booked and all 8 places are now taken. Unfortunatly we were unable to get the second shuttle as its been booked for another trip
However if you are still keen to do this ride Petra looks to be taking her van up to the Flora Carpark to do a ride in / ride out option.
It may be possible if we have enough cars at the other end to get a coupld more through and back to Nelson, so if your keen let me know and I'll see what magic I can work. As the rest of us are paying for the shuttle if we manage this it would be great if you could contribute to costs.

So.. Plan is this

We will be riding the Hackett track up to the Browning Turnoff, then up around the loop back to the hackett Hutt and back down again
Bring your togs for a swim afterward
