The Great Luni Challenge 2011

Whooo Hoo, we knocked it off!

8 keen Luni's turned up and completed the challenge.
Who would have thought this time last year that it would actually be a reality. Doing this challenge has altered a lot of peoples views on what can be acheived if you put your mind to it!
well done!

Involution update

Well, I offered, and who showed up?........ just me. I am starting to think I have bad breath, or really stinky B-O, but I must say, the track today was even better than it was 2 days ago.
The rootball has been widened out nicely, and the rut I spoke about is all gone. Thanks very much to whomever did the work, it really is riding the best it ever has.

Coppermine on a MUni

Below is a preview, click to read the full post

Each year there is an awesome mtb race in Nelson called the “Santa Cruz Coppermine Epic” A tough but fun blast up the old Dun mountain railway, around Nelsons’ alpine mineral belt, then descending down from the Coppermine saddle. An excellent ride, and were even rewarded with a beer at the top of fringed hill this year! It’s a tough and testing ride in places with a “splattering” (literally by some) of alcohol.

But today was something even more testing. The self proclaimed “Coppermine Epic Gargantuan Glover Gut-buster”, now even better, ...... it’s on “one” wheel .

Mondays Codgers Cruise

Murray, Daena, Katie and I cruised up Codgers and return today on "one". A fun session and some good practice for the little kids, as well as us big ones :)Murray and I spent a bit of time picking lines through the gully, and also up to the Codgers sign which always seems to be a challenge to cleanly ride.
A lot of fun had by all

Cheers Marty

LUni group ride photos

A great day out last Sunday and heaps of fun. Below are some photos of the day with great skills shown by Kev and Tay riding unassisted on only there first time on a unicycle, and of course Gareth on his 36" monster juggling rings and showing us all how it should be done. Heaps of new riders which was great to see, and the old "see saw of death" continued testing a few. We had around 20 riders and plenty of spectators, with heaps of thrills and yes a few splills, eh Dean ... Cant wait for the next one

Cheers Marty

LUni's evening urban blast

Last Monday night saw Julian, Wayne, Finn and me out on another evening blast around Richmond's walking tracks. A fun evening with young Finn riding every set of stairs he could find, while the rest of us were a little more reserved.

if anyone would like to come along to any of our evening rides (generally once a week) then send me a note and I will advise you of our next ride

Cheers Marty

LUni's take on the IV Line

Mad Muz and Dangerous Daly took on the new IV Line track with there Munis last weekend and had very successful results. I'm told by all accounts it is a very MUni friendly track with a few "traps" to keep things interesting.

The photos really says it all .......

Heli-Biking!

Below is a preview, click to read the full post

Well we were smiled on by the weather gods today as conditions couldn’t really have been better for our Heli-Bike adventure today.
All told we managed to shuttle 35 people and 33 bikes up to Coppermine Saddle, and then have a fantastic, full of energy blast down the newly revamped “South Branch” section of the Coppermine Loop.
Dale and Gribby did the hard yards and biked up to join us at the top, but neither of them had done the South Branch, so it was all new for them too.
